A few months ago I stumbled upon a great program called Influenster where you receive free products in exchange for an honest review. I was super hyped and signed up right away. I completed my profile and read up more about the program. Once I followed a few recommended steps now was the time to wait and see if I qualify for a free product. A few weeks later an e-mail came in advising me that I could qualify for a free Revlon mascara. Again I followed all the instructions and a week later I got an e-mail that my very first free product was on its way. Woo Hoo!!! My product arrived a few weeks later and it was the Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara. Now I finally have a chance to let you know what I think of this product.

How Great Is The Mega Multiplier Revlon Mascara?
I really like the packaging of this mascara. It’s pretty secure so I don’t think it will get loose over time and therefore your mascara will not open up in your purse. I also like the slick and attractive colors used in the packaging: black and blue which is very appealing and modern.
Mega Multiplier Revlon Mascara Wand
The wand itself is long enough to reach all your lashes. It’s thinner on one side so you can reach those smaller lashes near the nose area which are the trickiest to apply mascara to. Once you start applying the mascara the wand will easily separate your lashes and not clump them up too much. The amount of the product is minimal so you’ll need to apply a few coats to thicken up the look. It definitely does lengthen your lashes. I wore this mascara for approx. 5 hours with no chipping or running so I think it’s good enough to last you all day.
Tube Mascara Technology
This was my first time trying out the ‘tube’ mascara. I didn’t even know such thing existed and I had to ‘look it up’. Basically what it means is that the mascara forms tiny water-resistant ‘tubes‘ around your lashes. This is for the purpose of maximum amplification and hold, rather than painting the lashes like a conventional mascara does. When applied, the tubes bind to your lashes and don’t run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. That’s definitely a bonus if you’re out in the heat, rain, are out swimming or doing any kind of activity.
Easy Revlon Mascara Removal
I had absolutely no problem removing this mascara. As long as you use a good quality eye make-up remover you should be fine. Because I have very sensitive eyes I opted to use the Green Beaver Extra Gentle Make-up Remover with Soothing Aloe for eyes and face. And of course because the eye area is very thin and gentle make sure you don’t rub too much as this might be too abrasive for the delicate eye area. I think the biggest con of this mascara is the fact that its name Mega Multiplier makes you think it will thicken up your lashes a lot. It doesn’t do that very well. You really need to put a few coats on to make the lashes appear thicker. Even though this mascara doesn’t clump as much you do need to apply it pretty quickly so it doesn’t start to dry between the coats. Otherwise I did notice some clumps forming. Honestly that was never a problem with my Loreal Voluminous Mascara that I used to swear by until I switched to a few other brands.
Not Enough Drama
If you’re looking for this mascara to add a lot of drama to your eyes, I’m not gonna lie to you, you’ll likely be disappointed. There isn’t enough thickness for your lashes to really look going out ready. You will get some extra length especially if your lashes aren’t very long but the thickness just isn’t there.
Need for Mascara Primer
Somebody suggested that when using tube mascaras one needs to prep their lashes to really take advantage of the full effect. As such you’ll need to invest in a primer to put on your lashes before you apply this mascara. I don’t have a primer such as this. And for the purpose of this review I only wanted to use this one specific product. So for me this is a con because it requires the purchase of another product. This is something I’m not used to when it comes to mascaras. All the previous products I’ve used where sufficient enough. So keep this in mind before you purchase this mascara.
Overall I would give this mascara a 3.5 out of 5 if I was giving out stars. It’s good enough for a daytime look but lacks the needed oomph to be a great going out look. You really do need to put on a few coats to create fuller lashes. If you don’t do it quickly the mascara starts to dry. Therefore you have more opportunity for clumps to start forming. I would consider using this mascara during the day when I’m going to meetings or need to look more polished. Also, because it’s been suggested the product may work better with a primer you may need to spend more money to get the desired look. Therefore, that’s something that could prohibit me from purchasing a similar type of mascara if I didn’t want to invest in purchasing a primer.
