A few weeks ago I received my second complimentary VoxBox from Influenster. It was a total surprise, as I didn’t even get an e-mail heads up from them. After opening the package, I was pleasantly surprised to find two Kat Von D Fragrances: Saint and Sinner! Needless to say, I was pretty psyched. I’m already a fan of Kat Von D. And I’m well aware of the Sinner fragrance, as it’s been one of my favorites. I found this perfume at Sephora a few years ago and fell in love with it. After a few years of using it I found out it was no longer available at Sephora much to my dismay. I couldn’t believe when I saw it in my VoxBox! I had no idea it was back on the market. So without further ado here’s my fragrance review of both scents.
Which Fragrance Saint or Sinner Is Right For You?
Sinner Fragrance Review
I was already familiar with Sinner because I have bought it in the past. The reason why I picked this particular scent was because it was bold, musty and very fragrant. It also has heavy patchouli overtones and is well balanced with sweet elements of vanilla, plum, and a bit of cinnamon. I knew something familiar attracted me to this scent. And that is cinnamon, a spice I use everyday in my morning bowl of cereal or yogurt. Vanilla is also one of my favorites therefore I’m always attracted to fragrances that contain it.
What I love about this perfume is the fact that it’s bold but not too overpowering. Even though it’s muskier it’s not muscular. It’s still a very feminine scent without being too flowery or fruity like other scents out there. I definitely gravitate towards bolder scents such as these as they evoke more mystery and danger. What can I say I like to live on the edge a little bit. This perfume is complemented well by it’s dark, mysterious and bold black packaging. After all, like the name says it’s for the sinners out there!!! I love it! Bring it on!
Saint Fragrance Review
This was my first time trying out Saint and I feel that it’s a sweeter and softer of the two scents. I detected a fruity component to this fragrance and I was right. In addition to having cinnamon it also contains caramel and orange. Voila, this is exactly why I like this fragrance as well. Its fruity scent is not overpowering but beautifully complemented by the slight addition of the cinnamon. This fragrance is not just for the good girls out there but for those more dangerous ladies who are also sweet at heart.
That’s why I actually enjoy this fragrance as well. It’s perfect for that family outing where you’re hanging out with your loved ones or for that first date where you want to make a good first impression. Don’t get me wrong, you can also wear Sinner but Scent gives you that sweeter touch. This perfume comes perfectly complemented by the white packaging in contrast to Sinner’s black counterpart.
Saint and Sinner Packaging Review
I was immediately impressed by the lovely bottles these fragrances arrived in. The gorgeously sculpted bottles are a sight of their own. I absolutely adore them. And since this was a complimentary product from Influenster the bottles were minis and that made them even more irresistible. I mean look at the pictures and judge for yourself. I don’t even want to throw these bottles away when the perfume runs out. They’re just too cute not to keep. Kat Von D took to designing these bottles herself and I’m not at all surprised at that. She’s an awesome tattoo artist and therefore she likes to put her own esthetic into everything she does. Apparently she designed these bottles to resemble a human heart. I don’t know about you but I find that both beautiful and poetic.
