This week I wanted to highlight a special guest post I did for a great blog called The Elysian Geek. It’s a blog about the geeky side of social media and freelance writing. I had the pleasure of writing a post about a subject close to my working experience as a digital media strategist. And was happy to share the social media tools I like to use.
Social media is becoming a really important strategy to gain and sustain online audiences. It doesn’t matter if you have a blog, business website or you’re selling an online product, social media is a must for any business. To find out more about the importance of social media and how to use it to your full advantage read my article ‘6 Savvy Tips To Grow Your Online Presence’ here. There are a variety of platforms you can use depending on your type of business and the kind of audience you’re trying to attract. But it can get pretty time consuming to post everyday. You also need to be very strategic what content you post depending on the platform you’re using. I wanted to share with The Elysian Geek’s audience some of my favorite free and simple social media tools anyone can use to boost their online presence today!

Just read your article over on the other blog – I pretty much use all the same tools except I use Later for Instagram instead of Planoly. Social media is such a time consuming activity so I’m glad tools like these exist to help streamline the process. It’s still time consuming, but at least you can schedule your content for weeks or months ahead all in one sitting.

Great tips about scheduling posts, especially instagram which is my favorite too. So user friendly! I had heard about tailwind but didn’t know much about it, thanks for the info about the support sites, going to take a look at them too.
Glad you enjoyed the article Lisa. Thanks so much for checking it out ❤️
Totally agree with you, Social media is a really important strategy to gain online audiences. Awesome post 🙂
Thank you so much. Thanks for reading it ?
I have to say I’ve been reluctant in the past to invest too much time in Pinterest, but I’m loving it for my blog now! Instagram is great for connecting wiht followers, although for me personally it doesn’t convert much into blog traffic.
I agree with you. Instagram hasn’t brought too much traffic to my blog yet but I’m hoping once my following goes up so will the traffic. Pinterest is great for the traffic too.
Great tips! I NEED to make sure I’m scheduling posts more!! So thanks for the reminder!
Oh yes, I schedule a minimum of 5 post for Twitter Mon-Fri at least. And I also try to do at least 1 FB and Instagram post per day. Scheduling is key!
This is a lot of really good tips! I do everything manually at the moment and it’s definitely very time consuming!
Oh yes I agree doing it manually is definitely very hard to do. I hope you’ll get to try some of these tools.
Need to get my head around Pinterest, not sure about IG, have bookmarked your post for later. Hope to get more help from you when I start using pinterest. Thanks for sharing useful info
You’re very welcome Abhinav. Thanks for checking it out. Hope it helps you.
I used to use PLanoly but I got sick and tired of the notifications! LOL! I now post whenever it feels right. Trying to keep it genuine instead of planned :p Instagram is my favorite platform too.
Ha ha ha I actually like the notifications. Keeps me on track. And I love how you can see your feed in advance 🙂
Completely agree with this list. I find when starting out that it is best to focus on only two of these so that you aren’t spread to thin.
Yes when you start out it’s best to not get too overwhelmed.
Some great idea here, thanks
Thanks Matt 🙂
