Choosing a reliable website host can be a bit overwhelming. There’s so many companies out there that claim to do a great job so which one do you pick? Well, first thing you need to do is a bit of homework. The best way to find out if a company is reliable and lives up to the hype is to ask around. That’s exactly what I did before I chose my host. I read online reviews and I asked around on Facebook blogging groups. Finally a winner emerged and the good reviews all pointed to one place: SiteGround web hosting. Below I will go over why SiteGround web host is really the best choice!

Why SiteGround Web Host Is The Best Choice!
About SiteGround Web Host
The company was founded in 2004 and since then has grown to be one of the most recommended WordPress hosting companies. In fact they’re even an official WordPress recommended hosting provider. Hey, if they’re good enough for WordPress they’re good enough for me. The company is headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria with other offices in 6 different locations and many data centers in three continents. As of today, the company employs more than 400 employees and hosts over 500,000 domains. So they must be doing something right.
Top Notch Customer Service
What sets SiteGround apart is the fact that they provide great customer support. If you have any issues they’re always available to walk you thorough anything. You can easily reach them by phone or online chat that’s available 24/7. They have a lot of resources available online once you sign up and access your dashboard area. From many tutorials to even an affiliate area you can sign up for. It’s all available for you right then and there.
Fast Loading Speed
It’s no surprise that website loading speed is one of the most important aspects of a good website. How many times have you found yourself visiting a website only to click away because of long loading time? That’s happened to me on many occasions. How frustrating would it be if it was people leaving your website? Well, that would not be a good thing. SiteGround has you covered there. Websites hosted on their servers load much faster. Many independent tests have shown that SiteGround’s servers are super fast. They’re equipped with the latest hardware like SSD drives and customized software which makes them highly optimized for speed. And they’re also more equipped to handle heavier website traffic.
Affordable Hosting Plan Options
SiteGround offers a variety of hosting options such as: shared hosting, WordPress hosting, cloud hosting, and dedicated hosting plans. For anyone who’s a beginner or a website with lower traffic shared hosting is the way to go. Not only you’ll keep your cost down but you’ll also receive a great and reliable service. Let’s go over some of the shared hosting options below.
Startup
This plan limits you to hosting only one website. The maximum available disk space is 10 GB. It’s suitable for hosting a website with 10,000 monthly visitors. Other features include: 1-click WordPress install, free setup, website transfer, daily backups, and more.
GrowBig
GrowBig plan allows you to host unlimited websites. The maximum available disk space is 20 GB. It’s suitable for hosting websites with 25,000 monthly visitors. Your features will include all Startup plan options in addition to premium features like the Super Cacher (which makes your website load even faster), 1-year free wildcard SSL, and more.
GoGeek
The GoGeek plan is best suited for small eCommerce websites. It allows about 100,000 monthly visitors. The features include all the GrowBig’s options as well as advanced features like one-click git repo creation, WordPress and Joomla staging, and more.
No Unnecessary Up-selling
The great news about SiteGround is that they will never do any unnecessary up-selling. Unlike some other web host providers who shall remain nameless. SiteGround won’t bombard you with e-mails. I’ve heard that some of the other companies will literally e-mail you every day with suggestions to improve your website. That’s a scam. They only want you to sign up for other unnecessary upgrades that you don’t really need. I also heard that those companies will try to make you believe you need to pay for completely unrelated services like Office 365. Simply ignore those requests, e-mails and up-selling tactics or better yet switch to SiteGround. With SiteGround you get exactly what you pay for and you can rest assured your site is well taken care of. Now you can sit back, relax and concentrate on what you do best which is blogging.
Better Website Protection
SiteGround offers greater website protection against hackers and malware vulnerability. They achieve unmatched security on a shared hosting environment with unique account isolation. So if one account gets hacked it won’t affect the security of the others on the same network. SiteGround updates their software regularly therefore further minimizing any unsuspected attacks. While other companies wait for official security patches SiteGround issues their own. So their servers are never vulnerable in the mean time. You can trust SiteGround to keep your website safe.

I’m new at blogging, and I didn’t even think about this stuff before I chose a host! I will keep this in mind. Things to think about! Thanks!
Oh wow, yes I did a lot of research before I picked anything for my blog. It think it’s better to do it right the first time 🙂
I’m pretty new with my website and will def need to look into this! Right now I host with Hostgator, I believe
Oh yeah, my bf was considering Hostgator too but I think now he will go with Siteground 😉
Does he have something against hostgator?? Just curious as to why he has chosen one over the other 🙂
Not necessarily something against it but when I was doing research for my website I read that people were switching from Hostgator and Bluehost to Siteground and that those two used to be good but now not so much. I just heard so many good things about Siteground from other bloggers and I’ve had good experience so far that he is considering using them as well.
70% off?? I could definitely use that discount. Thanks for letting me know!
My pleasure. The discount is over now but let’s hope for Boxing day sales.
Might switch over from my current hosting site.
Oh yeah? They’re really good so I definitely recommend them. Feel free to use my link.
Why have I not heard of Siteground before today? Loading speed can be a problem so I’m going to look into this. Another excellent knowledgeable article from you, thanks!
Oh thank you so much Karen. I’m glad it was informative for you 🙂
After reading about this, I feel silly that I didn’t really research this stuff before I started my blog. I suppose if I ever decide to switch, I’ll be referring to this post!
Oh that’s ok Lisa. If it’s working for you that’s all good. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I researched to death lol.
I’m going to keep this in mind! I signed up for HostGator because I was advised it, and it seems to be okay, but I do notice slower loading speeds on my site sometimes. Unsure if that’s to do with the host or internet speeds, but I have suspected that there are better options out there for hosting. When my 1 year subscription is up I might switch over.
Oh yes, make sure it works well for you before the 1 yr. is up. You always can switch over to someone else.
that is very helpful ! thank you !
You’re welcome Marine 🙂
Oh this is so handy! This post came at the perfect time so thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Glad to be of help Tahnee 🙂

Absolutely. I’ve been meaning to write about this topic for some time now. Happy to help.
I’m a Siteground user and would recommend it in a heartbeat. I’ve benefited from their customer service many times. And i like how my site is fast loading and had practically not have had any downtime.
Oh I absolutely agree with you. I don’t ever recall my site being down and the loading speed is much faster in comparison to some other websites. So I would highly recommend them as well.
I use Siteground too and I love it!
Oh wicked. They’re great.
I did not know about this. I am considering of looking into this for my own blog
Oh great. I’m happy you find the info useful then. Thanks for checking it out.
